The social sciences of the digital are a fast growing field of critical inquiry into contemporary social, economic and political life. This workshop is intended to contribute to the ongoing efforts that create interdisciplinary dialogue and research on digital society at the University of Edinburgh. It’s aim is modest: to create a space for discussion and exchange, while also learning about what each of us has been up to and is planning to do in the near future. Although the workshop is primarily intended as a casual form of exchange in this sense, it does have an underlying theme every participant is encouraged to engage with: the political dimensions of the digital.
